This is an administrative, salaried position. The successful candidate will be in charge of managing fleet maintenance and repair and be able to keep organized, accurate and up to date maintenance and repair records on all company vehicles and be able to perform routine maintenance and repairs on site.
\n***Successful candidate will either be currently ASE certified or currently EVT certified so as to be qualified to perform the needed periodic ambulance safety inspections that are required by the state. If your certification is not current, you will have 90 days from the date of hire to become current, and we are willing to assist with the cost.
\n Primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of all company vehicles.
Responsible for performing periodic TN State amulance safety inspections
Responsible for completing repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance service. Checks on company vehicles in accordance with TN state regulations.
Responsible for keeping an accurate record of all services and repairs that have been completed or need to be completed.
Responsible for alerting the CEO for any suspected or confirmed abuse of company vehicles/equipment.
Responsible for determining if reported failures are the result of improper operation by crew members, material defects, normal wear, or other causes.
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all ambulance equipment as needed, including stretchers, cot mounts, inverters, emergency lights and other ambulance upfit equipment.
Responding to roadside assistances calls as needed, arranging transport of broken down vehicles, on site repair if possible, and bringing a spare ambulance to crews so they can continue on their call. This includes being available on call during operating hours to handle breakdown calls and coordinate TDOT/THP response and setting up a tow for the vehicle, and coordinating with dispatch to get another ambulance to the scene of the break down if the crew is patient loaded, and/or getting them a ride back to the station if the tow eta is long.
\n Servicing and repairing, or arranging for repair of other company equipment such as patient stretchers
Installing and maintaining Wi-Fi hotspots in all ambulances.
Installing, maintaining, and monitoring dash cam systems in all ambulances.
Maintaining accurate and up to date maintenance and repair records for all ambulances
You will have access to a carport with a heavy duty propane heater (for winter) in which to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs. For major repairs, like rear end, transmission, engine swaps, etc, you'll be coordinating with shops we currently work with on those items.
\nMinimum Requirements:
\n Strong knowledge of methods, material, tools, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of automotive and mechanical equipment, both diesel and gasoline.
Locating and correcting defects in automotive and mechanical equipment; performing skilled work in repairing and maintaining automotive equipment; using and caring for tools and equipment used in automotive and mechanical repair work; detailed and routine records.
Ability to work professionally with respect to both employees and management
Ability to work with others
Ability to communicate effectively in both a written and oral manner.
Ability to maintain a good driving record.
Ability to strictly adhere to established safety policies and guidelines.
Currently possess a current, vailed, driver's license.
Strong background in electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking, and powertrain systems. To include diagnosis and repair.
Must furnish own tools.
Must be available on call via telephone during company operating hours to manage break downs
Must be available to be on scene to coordinate needed services for the fleet.
Physical Requirements:
\n Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to use a variety of tools and machinery.
Has no back problems, muscle problems, or other physical disability which would not allow the lifting and carrying of heavy weight.
Has quick reflexes and superior safe driving ability.
Able to safely drive and operate vehicles, automotive repair machinery and tools.
Pay and benefits: Salary starts at $72,000/year, but we do consider experience and credentials when setting actual salary for the selected candidate.
