Summary

Are you a creative and love to nurture children’s faith and equip families for spiritual growth? Do you have experience leading children’s programming in a church or educational setting and enjoy participating in active play and activities with children? If your answers are yes, let’s talk! Riverside Presbyterian Church is recruiting for a Director of Children and Family Ministries ; Peoplr is excited to be leading this search.

In this role, you will provide oversight and coordination for children (infancy through 5th grade) and their families, nurturing them in Reformed faith and providing a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment. Specifically, you’ll recruit teachers and volunteers for programming; coordinate and oversee weekly Sunday School programs for children; plan and/or lead children’s worship opportunities; develop seasonal, liturgical season-based, and special events; provide resources and support to families to nurture faith in the community; and supervise the church nursery, including hiring and training employees.

This is a part-time position (15 hours/week), with onsite work at the church on Sunday and Tuesday mornings.Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will be hybrid with schedule flexibility.

Must Haves

• A personal and growing faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for Children’s ministry
• Experience leading children’s programming in a church or educational setting
• Familiarity with Presbyterian Church (USA) theology and polity
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead creatively, work collaboratively, and adapt to the needs of children and families
• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Physical Requirements: ability to lift and carry 25 pounds, long periods of standing and/or walking, stamina to participate in active play and activities with children, visual and auditory acuity to supervise children in busy environments
