About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff/Cost Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in general accounting and a focus on cost accounting practices, particularly within manufacturing or product-based environments. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing costs, and supporting financial reporting to help drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Analyze manufacturing and inventory costs; monitor variances and recommend improvements
• Prepare and maintain standard cost models and update bill of materials (BOMs) as needed
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Reconcile inventory transactions and support cycle count or physical inventory processes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations
• Prepare reports and summaries for management related to product margins and cost drivers
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to analyze cost-saving opportunities
• Support internal and external audits as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in general accounting or cost accounting
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting concepts
